Terms & Conditions

North Events is passionate about creating unique spaces to transform Weddings and Events into what our clients have always dreamed of.


Please read carefully the following sections:

North Events takes the stress out of the design side of your event by offering a full service from the concept stage right through to set-up, style and pack-down. If you are more into DIY we do allow you to select items from our growing inventory for your wedding or event and we will deliver them to your venue to do your own styling and we will pick them up at the end of the rental period. We don’t allow clients to pick-up furniture due to damage and we have the right transportation for the job taking all that hassle off your hands. (In off season if the rental is of small goods there can be allowances made.)

 

The normal Rental Period is 3-5 days.  All items will be clean, packed securely and delivered at the beginning of your rental period. Extended rentals are also available but not guaranteed.

 

A down payment of 50% of the total Rental Agreement is required to secure your date and the items and services selected.  Please note: ALL DOWN PAYMENTS to reserve hire and services are NON REFUNDABLE, as your reservation of a date secures the item/service for you and prevents us from being available to any other client for your rental period. Minimum deposit $1000. Under $1000 payment in full is required to reserve.

 

The remaining 50% of the total Hire Agreement must be paid 10 days prior to the event date at  the latest.  In addition to the remaining balance due, a bond of no less than $500 will be required additionally (unless otherwise stated) (the bond amount is reflective of the value of hireage.)and held to cover the cost of any damages incurred, stolen or lost while in your care.  If all items are returned safely without damage, your bond will be returned to you within 2 weeks post Wedding/Event.  

 

We will make every attempt to have available the items you have selected but due to unforeseen circumstances, such as breakages, we have the right to make substitutions to a similar item of quality and value.

Items should be returned in the same manner they were received. Cleaned furniture surfaces, upholstery vacuumed (any soiled fabrics we take care of and this expense will be deducted from the bond) Please see cleaning policy below.


Due to time constraints it is imperative that All items must be cleared, cleaned and ready for pack-up and pick-up by North Events by Midday following your event. If this has not be undertaken by the time North Events arrive you will be charged an assessed fee. 

If you are holding your event outdoors or a private venue to where you will not be cleaning up until the following day, specialty items such as Cushions, Fabric items, rugs, furniture must be moved indoors or to under a covered area to prevent damage from rain, dew or humidity.  Furniture and Items must NOT be kept outside in the elements overnight.

Please be considerate to furniture items around smokers due to burn holes as well as some items including cushions are highly flammable.

Important - It is also up to the client to make sure other individuals helping with your event understand the terms and conditions of this agreement.

Lighting must be taken extra care of. If any festoon bulbs are blown they will be charged for. We do not supply extension leads unless we are setting the event up ourselves as these items go missing too easily.

 

REFUNDS

There will be no refunds or credit issued for cancellations of events, inclement weather or for any items that have been reserved but unused.  Please review your items carefully on the Rental Agreement for once items are agreed upon, they cannot be cancelled.  If for some unforeseen reason your date needs to be shifted we will accommodate to the best of our ability but this does not mean we guarantee your new date as dates fill fast. Due to Covid we accept that there could be date changes due to overseas travel but please understand that if you pay a deposit to hold your date we are closing that date off to any other potential clients so $1000 is a non-refundable portion that covers any time already spent planning your event and preventing further business for North Events. 

 

CLEANING POLICY

Crockery, glassware and serving Items:   All items must be returned clean.  Cutlery Items must be washed by hand and not in the dishwasher.  For the clients who prefer less hassle,  we can offer a cleaning service  for a  fee of $0.50 per item. However ALL items must be rinsed and free of food debris. This service is only available with advanced notice. If for some reason items are returned uncleaned without prior notice a fee will be assessed and deducted from your bond.

Fabric items:  Linens, Rugs, Cushions, Macrame are not to be laundered by the client.   If items are heavily soiled or have been damaged during the event, a replacement charge will be assessed for each item. 

 

DELIVERY FEES AND/OR PICKUP FEES

Our delivery and/or pick up service is as follows:

$1.80 per km for Ute and Trailer plus $25per hour driver.

For smaller items $1 per km for standard Ute plus $25 per hour driver (If helper required this will be charged at $25per hour also)

 

LATE FEES

If we have agreed to smaller items being picked up by the client and these are not returned by the agreed date you will be charged the equivalent daily rental of the items hired per day until returned.


FLORALS

Once an agreement has been reached with your floral design requirements and the deposit has been paid, North Events then has to place an order with our suppliers and pay a deposit also. Therefore it is imperative that the choices are firm because there can be no changes made past this point. We can do our best to make additions but no deductions. Market prices are subject to change so there may be slight increases. 

North Events does not work alongside other florists or stylists whether it be professionals, family or friends of the clients. 

North Events supplies ALL florals and foliage. 

North Events delivers and installs all floral work to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. (some allowances can be made depending on the individual job)

North Events does not hire out any floral bases or equipment to other florists or clients for their own use.

If the client has something special they would like to have amongst the florals like jewellery, fabric, ribbons, keepsake we absolutely can incorporate these. 

North Events is not responsible for disposal of or dismantling large floral work. If there is a base used we will dismantle the installation to remove our framework however it is up to the client to dispose of any unwanted foliage, florals, mesh, wire, containers etc. If for any reason you have no way of doing so this should be arranged with us prior to the event and we can dismantle and dispose of it for you for an extra fee.

All bases, re-usable containers, framework, vases etc used in your event belong to North Events. You are purchasing the creative service, florals, foliage and consumables only.

Once florals are delivered or installed North Events takes no responsibility after they have left the premises. We guarantee safe and sound bases, framework and installation so any interaction by non North Event staff is not of North Events responsibility. 

If you require a hanging installation you must make sure to communicate with North Events and the Venue/Marquee company to ensure there is adequate anchorage before the day of the event as this can pose risks as well as consume time that is very valuable.


For any large installations that require moving from one space to another e.g. ceremony to reception North Events are prepared to handle this by prior arrangement and will be charged accordingly.


STYLING

North Events is passionate about styling all events especially when using their own furniture and florals. This is an additional service and does not automatically come with hireage. 

Set-up and pack-down is separate to styling and will be charged per hour if required. If you require set-up and pack-down but would like to Style yourself you can do so.

If North Events is employed to Style an event then we are automatically in charge of the set-up.

When paying for a styling service with North Events we like to take charge of this along with your input. We ensure all events are finished to a flawlessly cohesive result. We do allow some help on the day under our supervision and direction but not to the detriment of the design or time frame. 

If you have chosen our full styling package at $1500+gst this is us designing from the concept stage through to execution on the day. 

If we are working together with your concept North charges $45 per hour per person.

We do not work along side other stylists whether they be professional, family/friends of the client as we take a huge amount of pride in our work. 

We do allow the client to supply items/furniture if it works in with the design of the event and this agreed upon prior to the event. 

We are extremely experienced in this field and know what is the best fit for each style. 

North Events needs to be able to finish setting up and styling an event and be proud of the work we have achieved as the works reflects directly upon our name and reputation.



GRAZING

Once a grazing table or platter is agreed upon and deposit paid you are locked in. North Events places orders for specific products early to ensure we have available what you require.

North Events only supplies and creates from high quality pre-packed food items, fresh fruit and vegetables. We do not supply any home-made goods or food that requires cooking. If you would like to add your own cooking, baking, salads, dips, meats, seafoods, etc you may do so. This needs to be pre-arranged with North Events and we will have a contract drawn up to state that you will be supplying certain foods to be arranged along with North Events Grazing. This is to ensure we are not liable for any illness/food poisoning that may occur. We do not offer discounts for the client supplying food as there is still much time and creativity that goes into prep and arrangement. We will however suggest a per head figure as to ensure you are getting the adequate quantities required. All furniture and serve-ware utilised must be thoroughly cleaned before pick-up, otherwise we will charge accordingly.

North Events takes no responsibility for any illness, food poisoning or allergic reaction that may occur by guests at your event. We prepare all food in a highly hygienic manner, all food purchased is within used-by date and has been a pre-packed and purchased product. All fruit and vegetables are thoroughly soaked in organic vinegars and salt and cut and packed in a highly hygienic manner also. There is no way for any contamination to occur. Consumers with allergies eat at own risk and it is up to the client to communicate with their guests.



MISCELLANEOUS

The client agrees that North Events holds no liability for any damage or injury caused by the use of rental items to the renter or any third party.  The client assumes all risk of personal property damage or personal injury. 

Whilst any North Events property is in your name you are responsible for full replacement in the event of an extreme weather event, natural disaster, fire, or theft. 

At North Events we take a huge amount of pride in what we do and your event is our highest priority. When you agree to work with North Events we ask that you are completely transparent with us when it comes to other vendors or anyone who may want to contribute to your event on a decorative/creative level. We DO NOT work along-side any competitive vendors i.e. Other florists or stylists whether they be professional or friends/family as this can risk the entire look/cohesion of your event which once again is our highest priority.

When you agree to work with North Events you are paying for not only a service but we like to think a one off work of art. The time, creative uniqueness, and passion that goes into each event is huge so we ask that with respect our work is not subject to any form of plagiarism which includes competitive business in the same field.


DISCLAIMER

User accepts risk of all liability of damage and injury for any all occurrences while property is in your care, custody and control.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE

By accepting these terms listed in this agreement, you agree to allow North Events permission to use photos taken at your event on our websites, social media sites, advertisements, etc. with the understanding that you will not profit from them in any way. If you are to use any photography/videography on social media or the likes we ask that you credit North Events where any of our work or furniture features.
